S obzirom na hiljade saobraćajnih nesreća svake godine zbog vozača koji zaspe za volanom, Fordov novi sigurnosni sistem za upozorenje vozača mogao bi se pokazati pravim spasiocem. Alarm za vozača koristi naprednu tehnologiju i sofisticirane algoritme kako bi analizirao ponašanje vozača i upozorio ukoliko vozač pokazuje jasne znakove umora ili nepravilne vožnje.
Sistem upozorenja za vozače sastoji se od male kamere usmjerene prema naprijed koja je povezana sa kompjuterom . Kamera je ugrađena na poleđinu retrovizora i programirana tako da identificira oznake na cesti s obje strane vozila. Kada se vozilo kreće, kompjuter gleda ispred sebe i predviđa gdje bi auto morao biti smješten u odnosu na oznake na cesti. Tada mjeri gdje se vozilo stvarno nalazi i ukoliko je odstupanje značajno, daje upozorenje.
Prvo će se pojaviti upozorenje na instrument ploči kao tekstualna poruka i ostat će tako 10 sekundi sa pratećim zvučnim signalom. Ukoliko vozač i dalje pokazuje znakove umora, na instrument ploči se pojavljuje jače upozorenje na koje vozač jednostavno mora reagirati pritiskom na dugme OK. Upozorenje za vozača sada je dostupno na svim verzijama novog Focusa i Mondea kao i na modelima S-Max i Galaxy.
